OSE-50/43 is an aqueous emulsion of (oligo)dimethylhydrogensiloxane and mineral oil.
It is used for dust removal and additional water repellency of materials made of glass wool and rock wool treated with phenol formaldehyde resin.
In order to prevent the generation of fine-grained dust from glass wool and rock wool and to achieve a water-repellent effect, the OSE-50/43 emulsion is used as a mixture of polymer binders, aldehydes and other additives. Since the shelf life of the various mixtures depends on the composition of the phenol-aldehyde resins and additives, no general advice can be given on their compatibility.
The OSE-50/43 emulsion is used together with the binder.
Treatment of glass wool and mineral wool with OSE-50/43 emulsion after drying and hardening is not recommended.
The material is non-toxic, fire- and explosion-proof, and less irritating.
