Aqueous emulsion of oligo-dimethyl-hydroxide-siloxane, which is designed for the water-repellent treatment of various materials (eg glass wool and rock wool products treated with phenol-formaldehyde resin).
To make glass wool or mineral wool waterproof, mix the SE-50/12 emulsion with a solution of phenol-aldehyde resin and other additives. SE-50/12 mixed with OE-50/42 is used to reduce the fine dust generated during the production of glass wool and rock wool and to achieve a water-repellent effect. Since the quality of dust removal and water repellency can vary considerably, there are no clear rules for mixing emulsions.
Bearing in mind the characteristics of the products to be processed, individual tests must be carried out in each case in order to achieve the best results. The mixing ratio is 1 mass part SE-50/12 emulsion and 3-5 mass parts OE-50/42 emulsion. In this case, the mixture of emulsions is also mixed with the solution of phenol-aldehyde resin and other additives.
Since the shelf life of the various mixtures depends mainly on the composition of the phenol-aldehyde resins and additives, no general advice can be given on their compatibility.
The SE-50/12 emulsion or the mixture of SE-50/12 and OE-50/42 emulsions is used together with the binder.
Treatment of glass wool and mineral wool with SE-50/12 emulsion or a mixture of SE-50/12 and OE-50/42 emulsion after drying and curing is not recommended.
